“I am VICTORIA” is based on the world-famous Norwegian author Knut Hamsun’s novel from 1898, “Victoria”.
As inspiration for the work, Tine has used Hamsun’s well-known quote; “And love became the origin of the world and the ruler of the world; but all its paths are filled with flowers and blood, flowers and blood.”
Notice Tine’s illustration of the vulnerable VICTORIA on the right side of the face, and how the power and strength are displayed on the left.
Victoria can just not be tamed; the work ended up with both flowers and blood.
